"If you’re a good swimmer and want to learn a new sport as well as meet lots of like-minded people, the Sharks Water Polo Club is for you!"
The Basics Of Water Polo
Never played before? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Our friendly and experienced coaches will teach you all the skills, starting with the basics and working up to the more advanced techniques.
Just your swimwear, that’s all! (But try to avoid swimming shorts as they drag you down.)
The better you are at swimming, the easier it is to play water polo. We’d suggest that you should be able to swim at least 50m without stopping and be able to swim a length in under a minute.
Your first session is free, but if you’d like to continue coming, you will also need to pay for registration with the Amateur Swimming Association (governing body).
Our Thursday session starts at 8:30pm - 10pm at East Manchester Leisure Centre. We meet in reception at 8:15PM – this is a great chance to meet everybody at the club.
Yes! We go for drinks at Via on Canal St in Manchester after every session. Via sponsors us and often provides complimentary food – which is much appreciated after a tough workout!
Not at all – Manchester Sharks is an inclusive club that welcomes everybody, but please be aware that we are an LGBTQ+ friendly club.
